Q - What camera did you use for Cameras and Coffee?

A. - Ricoh GR III Digital

Q. How long have you been taking photos?

A. I’ve been making photos since I took my first high school darkroom class, which was in 2002.

Q. Why did you start photography?

A . I originally loved the process that happened in the darkroom. I could shoot a roll of film in downtown Boston and then I would skip all of my classes and spend the day developing and printing in the darkroom. All of the variables coming together from the exposure to the chemicals, to the iso felt like art and science.

Q. What motivates you when it comes to photography?

A. Photography is unique in that it captures a specific moment in time and can act as a historical record, despite whatever bias the artist may have. In 2020 when we all went inside I remember going through my camera roll on my phone endlessly to relive some of the most important and mundane social moments over the years, and how grateful I was to have those images. Documentation with imagery is important.

Q. Describe your photography style.

A. It depends, these days it’s more documentary than when I was in art school, and directly after I did a lot of fashion and editorial which I found to be a fun creative outlet.

Q. Explain your Instagram name.

A. Ghost.CSV, I’m haunting your excel files

Q. What are your photo goals for the next year?

A. I moved to Detroit a year ago and I’m just looking forward to spending this summer exploring and taking photos and getting to know Michigan a bit more.
