Cameras and Coffee with Doreen
Doreen and I met at Bikes and Coffee in Detroit and we walked around the Brightmore neighborhood. She was shooting with a Nikon Z7 digital mirrorless camera, Minolta Hi-Matic 9 film camera, and an iPhone 11 Pro Max.
She got her first camera when she was around 11 years old. She took a photography class in her junior year of high school and used the school’s 35mm cameras and learned to develop film and create black and white prints in the darkroom. This developed her love of photography.
Doreen’s motivation is both to document my life, family, and friends and to have a creative outlet to visualize and create images of things that I like. She likes to photograph nature and places that I travel to, but she also enjoys abstract, macro, architecture, event, sports, portrait photography, as well as photojournalism, and product photography.
