Q - What camera did you use for Cameras and Coffee?

A. - iPhone XS.

Q. How long have you been taking photos?

A. Instagram really got me interested in photography when I started using it 11 years ago.

Q. Why did you start photography?

A . I find the world to be moving, mysterious, and quirky. I love the challenge of getting what I see into a frame so I can enjoy it with others.

Q. What motivates you when it comes to photography?

A. Finding the beauty in the unique and unexpected. The “will only happen once” capture. And when the rare capture is of someone and you can share it with them, that feeds my soul.

Q. Describe your photography style.

A. Gritty pretty. It’s my style in all things really - clothes and decor. I’m drawn to things that have a story to tell.

Q. Explain your Instagram name. 

A. made the name to play Words With Friends (Am I dating myself? Ha!) My first name and variations were all taken. The MTV Music Awards had just come out and Snoop Dogg was fo’shizzling. I jokingly used La_Pizzle and it stuck. I love my handle. Ha! Thanks Snoop. A few friends call me La_Pizzle now when I run into them. It’s very endearing.

Q. What are your photo goals for the next year?

A. I love having meaningful conversations with strangers and through those conversations finding common threads. Then connecting people and threads together. It’s a learned skill that now comes very naturally to me. That’s how I met you! My current focus is to continue to form and foster relationships and I’m presently brainstorming how I can accelerate connections in an organic way. Was this supposed to be about photography? Ha!
