Q - What camera did you use for Cameras and Coffee?

A. - I used my film cam! Olympus OM-10. Portra 800 film

Q. How long have you been taking photos?

A. I’ve been shooting for about 7 years now.

Q. Why did you start photography?

A . I started photography because I thought I was supposed to do everything I was decent or good at. Now I just shoot for my own enjoyment. It is a nice creative outlet.

Q. What motivates you when it comes to photography?

A. My motivation changes a lot. Recently it is been meeting other great artists and photographers. The community is amazing and I really get inspired by others and how they see the world through their own lens.

Q. Describe your photography style.

A. I don’t think I've had only one consistent style in the handful of years I’ve been shooting. I only just started shooting 35mm film just last summer. I think I really love just capturing any and everything in its natural, beautiful state.

Q. Explain your Instagram name. 

A. My Instagram actually used to be “create.banks” the name of my personal media LLC. But I changed it because I wasn’t enjoying the work I was doing through monetizing it. So now it is just “rob.y.nbanks”, dots around the “y” because its what makes my name a little more unique. My goal is to convey a sort of uniqueness in my work as well.

Q. What are your photo goals for the next year?

A. For the next year I really just want to enjoy learning new things about other creative people and other artists and photographers. I’ve met so many cool people who are all so driven and inviting. And I’m still learning my own style, so hopefully, it’ll flourish a little more.
