Aaron McCall
Graphic Designer Artist
Scott: How long have you been a graphic designer/artist?
Aaron: I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember, but I’ve been getting paid to be a graphic designer/artist for about 15 years.
Scott: Why did you start playing music?
Aaron: Because music is everything. I don’t know how to explain it other than rock n roll has had my heart since my father introduced me to the guitar. Music still influences every move I make as an artist.
Scott: What art instruments do you use to create your projects?
Aaron: It always starts with a pencil and a sketchbook, but it could find its way to a screen, a canvas covered in paint, or wherever. But my favorite tools are Adobe Illustrator and a Krink K-60 paint marker.
Scott: What do you enjoy about creating art?
Aaron: It’s freedom. It’s an outlet. It’s therapy. It’s a platform. It’s whatever the fuck I want it to be. It’s rock ‘n roll.
Scott: What was a roadblock in your art journey?
Aaron: Learning that my work isn’t for everybody, and if I try to appeal to everyone, the work is just shit. I learned to create for myself and if people connect with it, they connect with it. And if they don’t, that’s fine too.
Scott: What are your goals for the next year?
Aaron: I want to push myself to make some artwork that I can’t fathom today. And if I can get an exhibit or two in there, I’d be stoked.
Scott: One positive thing about yourself?
Aaron: Funniest guy I know haha.
