Norma aka Red Pop Bike
Scott: How long have you had the Faygo bike?
Norma: I’ve had the bike for the past five years. Won it at a Christmas party in December 2016. There was a raffle and I put all my tickets except one into the box to win the bike.
Scott: How long have you been riding bicycles in Detroit?
Norma: The company I work for has bicycles that they keep in the lobby for us to sign out, to go pick up lunch, to see the city, etc. Sort of like a company MoGo all our own. That started I believe in 2016 and I’ve been riding ever since.
Scott: What do you enjoy about riding your bike?
Norma: The freedom that it gives me. I can go into places that someone in a car may never see unless they purposefully stop.
Scott: What are your goals for the next year?
Norma: I have a few things that I’m working on. Mostly I keep my goals to myself. One that I can share is that I plan on buying a house.

Norma: Detroit Bikes, The Hub, or Wheelhouse for repair. It gets regular maintenance just like a car.
Scott: One positive thing about yourself?
Norma: Empathy is my superpower… I feel like it’s one of the biggest gifts you can have, and I’m very thankful for it. Some people see it as a weakness, but I see it as a strength.
Scott: What are your top 5 cities for art?
Norma: I just recently fell in love with street art when I move to Detroit and became more familiar with the city. But I do love art in general, visiting places like the DIA. I can’t say I have a top-five. But I would love to visit museums in New York, Chicago, and Paris. What an awesome experience that would be!
